Step-by-step description of what to expect during a BisSAT or BisLTE installation.
Outside the Building
Step 1: After locating a suitable line-of-sight to the satellite, the certified Xplore Business installer will mount the outdoor unit (satellite antenna) using the standard tri-mast mount. The outdoor unit can either be wall-mounted or roof-mounted.
Step 2: The installer will align the antenna to achieve optimal signal reception.
Step 3: The installer will supply and run the Xplore-approved dual RG6 cable.
Step 4: The installer will supply and install the necessary ground block on the exterior of the building, which will then be properly grounded according to local regulations.
Step 5: The installer will seal all exterior holes and use drip loops on all exterior cables.
Outside the Building
Step 1: After locating a suitable line-of-sight to the nearest tower, the authorized Xplore installer will mount the subscriber module to the building using a standard mounting bracket or a 10-foot tripod. The outdoor unit can either be wall-mounted or roof-mounted.
Step 2: The installer runs one outdoor Ethernet cable from the base of the subscriber module to the point of entry into the building.
Step 3: A surge suppressor is installed, preferably on the exterior of the home or building, which will then be grounded according to local regulations.
Step 4: The installer will seal all exterior holes and use drip loops on all exterior cables.
Inside the Building
Step 5: The installer will run an Ethernet cable from the point of entry to the customer’s preferred location in the building. Typically, a small hole is required to be drilled into the outside of the wall to allow entrance of the cable.
Step 6: The installer will hook up an AC power adapter.
Step 7: The installer will test the system with their laptop to ensure the signal strength is working at the expected service level and Internet browsing is functional.
Note: Additional charges may apply depending on remote locations. For services past the demarcation point, rates and support may be negotiated with the dealer.
